18.9. Tour de France. It's all over now, baby blue.

Towards the end of the Tour de France , the worst nightmares become reality. You can't pinch yourself anymore and hope to wake up. No, the horror is the reality. Many had to bury their dreams. I'm talking about John Degenkolb, for example, who saw his dream swim away on the first day and could no longer catch up with it. But mother Fortuna is gracious and so Degenkolb won the 3rd stage of the Tour de Luxembourg. We were there a few years ago with the big tour. But I am mainly talking about Bernal, Buchmann and Alaphilippe.
All three certainly wanted to somehow win the Tour de France this year. Somehow and then everything turned out very differently. Alaphilippe and Buchmann take the sprinters for a walk through France in the tour bus and Bernal was even sent home. To somewhere, I don't think he can fly back to Colombia yet. After Jumbo Visma pulled the tooth from the grenadiers, they were suddenly completely painless again. Yesterday, Carapaz and Kwiatkoswki were able to drive up as if they were freed from the burden, were able to get the mountain ratings and the mountain jersey.
Carapaz, the champion of last year's little tour, called Giro, will try to carry the polka dot jersey to Paris. That will probably work. But whether he can wear it on the podium in Paris is questionable. Because in the time trial in La Planches de belles Filles, a maximum of 10 points can be awarded. Let's not forget the two points on the route. His fiercest rival for the jersey is Primoz Roglic of the Jumbo Visma team. He is also the favorite for the time trial and is only 7 points behind Carapaz. I think that the Jumbo`s won't even treat the people from Ineos to the jerseys of the poor riders. Finally, there is another 25,000 euros for this. 500,000 are paid out for the millionaires in yellow.
Finally, I would like to come back to Alaphilippe. The ambitious Frenchman broke the day the jury took the yellow jersey away because of a mistake. After that, he turned out the tough man even more, but experienced catastrophic break-ins in the process. That would not have happened in yellow. The tour was actually tailored to him. Not quite as high mountains, but plenty. Without the yellow jersey, the French matadors have certain difficulties and Alaphilippe now has to come to terms with the seats in the tour bus.
Primoz Roglic from the Jumbo Visma team probably won the tour yesterday with fourth place behind team mate Wout Van Aert. He no longer considered it necessary to get the bonus seconds for 3rd place. Of course, a lot can still happen on three stages, but the ketone cyclists will rock it. I'm absolutely sure with this.
