Tour de Luxembourg and Alexander Krieger
1 min read
Although John Degenkolb has already won a stage of the Tour de Luxembourg , Alexander Krieger from Team Alpecin Fenix is the more successful cyclist on this tour. At least as far as the overall rating is concerned.
After the fourth stage, Krieger is fifth there, but he was already further ahead. No other German cyclist, not even Degenkolb, has anything to do with the overall ranking. Degenkolb was eliminated from the first stage of the Tour de France and was allowed to take part in the Luxembourg Tour with a special permit from the ASO . These permits must be requested by the retiring cyclists from the respective organizer so that they do not arbitrarily change races.
The 4th stage of the Tour de Luxembourg led from Rodange to Differdange. At 201 km, it was the longest stage of this year's tour. At the end of the day it was marked by four outliers, who crossed the finish line with a lead of 15 seconds. Of these, Diego Ulissi from the UAE Emirates team then decided the race. Ulisse also leads the overall standings. Alexander Krieger from Team Alpecin Fenix then won the sprint of the field.
