Paris-Bourges
Paris-Bourges

It's fall classic season. This does not mean Paris Bourges or the Gran Piemonte. But both races are indispensable for the respective highlights of the cycling festival in autumn. In France this is Paris Tours and in Italy the much better known Lombardia. As an extremely competent linguist, I understand why mam says Il Lombardia, uh, well, not. Il means yes in Italian and endings of nouns with a are feminine. But the Italian obsession with masculinity probably plays a role here. ” Sir, the Lombardy tour. Something for women? I ask you!!"
I shouldn't care. First of all, I'll report on Paris Bourges. This is the preparation race for Paris Tours. Both races will of course not start in Paris. Paris Bourges starts in Gien and that is south of Orleans on the Loire. It is well known that Calcutta is on the Ganges and Paris on the Seine. Therefore, because of the shortened route, a few hearty loops are driven. You have to get to 198 kilometers.
Paris Tours is for the sprinters. I don't want to hear about the unofficial world championship three more times, like any race that's reasonably flat. As far as I'm concerned, certain commentators can push the chatter to places where the sun never shines. Il Lombardia is for the rollers, Paris Tour for guys with the punch on the home stretch. That's why they're at Paris Bourges.
That's why there was another mass sprint at Paris Bourges. Groupama FDJ even approached him fairly decently for Arnaud Demare. Jasper Philipsen from Team Alpecin Decuninck was particularly pleased about this. He used to like to put on the sprint for Cavendish. But he seems to be able to learn. And later thanked Demare properly. Nice boy by the way.
Alpecin Deceuninck is something like the new phoenix. The team has been tormenting around in cyclocross for years. Until next year it will be first class. We didn't expect that three years ago. That's why Lottol Soudal and Israel Premier Tech suddenly woke up from dreams this year.
There will be more information on this next week.
