World Cup Cyclo Cross in the Beekse Bergen.

Well, we used to be in the Bekse mountains with our sailing boat. With the mast down, of course. The mountains are probably more likely. But this is a pretty quarry pond, where you can spend the night for a lot of money. Or just keep cycling. There are probably a few heaps of earth there by the lake. However, they were not used.

The Cyclo Cross World Cup is also called the Shark Food World Cup. Most of the guys are nowhere near competitive. Similar to women's ski jumping, you need a few extras. I actually think that's a shame. It is also not the Olympic idea that counts here. We are in tough professional sports. Rather, you probably need a few victims for advertising reasons.

Unfortunately, this also includes most of the German drivers. Only Marcel Meisen is probably an exception here. But he wasn't there anymore. The others fight to prevent the lapping. This includes taking a shower early.

The Bei der Tilburg course was very moderate today. No mud. And one of the sandy passages also looked like sand but was hard to give. But there was a second one. It has to be a little fun. The course was clearly a Dutch one. The Belgians prefer the mud and call something like in Tilburg tactical. That's polite.

The German boys also benefited from the cause. Although they were more than a minute behind after two laps, they were not over-rounded. You rarely see it otherwise. As usual, Eli Iserbyt lagged behind at the beginning, but was with the people in the last lap. The Swiss Kühn does it the other way around. Same today. There was even the Spanish champion ahead of him. Also rather rare.

Let's talk about the last round. It was all about victory. 5 drivers were still there. Sweeck, Iserbyt, Vanthourenhout, Lars Van der Haar and, as an outsider, the Dutchman Joris Nieuwenhout.

He also remained an outsider, because he just missed the podium. Eli Iserbyt lived up to his role only part of the time, because in the end he couldn't prove it. The other three shared the podium places. In the last few meters, Laurens Sweeck overtook Dutchman Var der Haar and clinched victory. Vanthourenhout was third.
