Eli Iserbyt is the cyclo cross star of the pre-winter season. In America he has dominated his two World Cup races and in Tabor he has won his third consecutive race. He readily admitted that this was also due to the team strategy. Eli Iserbyt has a tough opponent this fall. It's not called Van der Poel or Van Aert. His name is Laurens Sweeck, he's also Belgian, but he comes from a different team. Crelan Fristads. Therefore, a teammate of Eli Iserbyt had to soften the opponent a bit. You know that from bullfights. Where there is a lot of hype from the picadores and when the poor animal is completely screwed, the matador comes and sets the deadly stab with bursting grandeur. I don't believe in this kind of animal cruelty.

Otherwise you could see the superiority of the Belgians. Among the first seven you saw their sixes. I don't even know why the others are there at all. Since it was a World Cup, a German driver was of course also there. Florian Hamm was knocked off 29th. No driver saw the finish line behind him. At the moment, the other German riders are more at the smaller events in Switzerland.

The Ruka weekend starts with snow.

The combined athletes are allowed to open the official ski jumping winter season.  Yes, you land on snow and not on green plastic straws.  Feels completely different.  Thanks Finland. As is well known, the competition of combined athletes consists of two disciplines.  Jumping and cross-country skiing, on skis.  This time the boys have to jump off the large hill and later in the afternoon run another 5 km. The Germans are known to be the favorites in this discipline....

Sascha Weber is the new German Cyclo Cross Champion.

  Sascha Weber is the new German Cyclo Cross Champion. It was hinted at beforehand.  Only two riders had the potential to become German Cyclo Cross Champion.  However, the old master Marcel Meisen weakened a bit in the race on Sunday in Munich.  So he had to admit defeat to his old rival Sascha Weber.  Weber had never climbed to the top of the podium at the National Cyclo Cross Championships.  He will therefore be glad that he managed to do it again at the age of 34. Of course, the whole thing also shows the misery in German cyclo cross sport.  There is simply a lack of competitive youngsters.  The two luminaries of last Sunday do not exactly belong to the world leaders in this sport.  And the youngsters are happy if they are not overtaken in Belgium and have to retire.  But it's rather rare. So the result is certainly a reason for Sascha Weber to celebrate.  To wear the jersey again so shortly before retirement is a stroke of luck....
